2020 –

Regrettably, the 2020 CIVSA Annual Conference had to be canceled for the health and safety of all participants, due to the COVID-19 global pandemic.

We did still acknowledge the deserving CIVSA Award recipients during our virtual annual business meeting: Natalie Mann (University of Georgia) received the Nick Kovalakides Outstanding Member Award, Nick Reffuge (University of Pittsburgh) received the Rising Star Award, Jayne Reimel (University of California, Santa Barbara) received the Individual Achievement Award, and Eric Brodsky (Adelphi University) received the inaugural CIVSA Service Award.

2019 – Portland, Oregon

610 attendees from 352 different institutions (in 42 states, plus Washington DC, Canada, the UK, and Guam) took part in the 26th annual CIVSA conference, held June 4-8 in Portland, OR. Karlene Kunigiel (Skidmore College) received the Nick Kovalakides Outstanding Member Award, Mel Baxter (The University of Texas at Austin) received the Rising Star Award, and Gavin Waits (Illinois Institute of Technology) received the Individual Achievement Award. 566 attendees from 324 different institutions (in 45 states, plus Washington DC, Canada, Ireland, the UK, and Trinidad and Tobago) took part in the 24th annual CIVSA conference, held May 30-June 3 in Philadelphia. Wes Sullivan (California Lutheran University) received the Nick Kovalakides Outstanding Member Award, Annalise Miyashiro (Vanderbilt University) received the Rising Star Award, and Olivia McGuckin (Randolph-Macon College) received the inaugural Individual Achievement Award. 419 attendees from 243 different institutions (in 43 states, plus Washington DC and 3 Canadian provinces) took part in the 23rd annual CIVSA conference, held May 31-June 3 in San Diego. Jenn McKenzie (Hendrix College) received the Nick Kovalakides Outstanding Member Award, Taylor Blair (University of Kentucky) received the Rising Star Award, and Foot Awards went to Mel Baxter (The University of Texas at Austin), Lindsey Darling (Merrimack College), Duane Hamilton (Florida Atlantic University), Cindy Harkness (Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis), Grace Hartman (Santa Clara University), and Anthony Lamoureux (Northeastern University).

2015 – Nashville, Tennessee

462 attendees from 282 different institutions (in 45 states, plus Washington DC and Canada) took part in the 22nd annual CIVSA conference, held June 3-6 in Nashville, Tennessee. 2013 – Alexandria, Virginia

303 attendees took part in the 20th annual CIVSA conference, held June 2-6 in Alexandria, Virginia. Troy Selk received the Nick Kovalakides Outstanding Member Award, Rex Oliver (Texas Tech University) received the inaugural Rising Star Award, and Foot Awards went to Matt Jones (University of Maryland), Kari Kolb (Transylvania University), Morgan Lamborn (University of Florida), John Nesbitt (Vanderbilt University), Ebony Smith (The Ohio State University), and Tela Witherspoon (University of North Carolina-Charlotte).

2012 – Denver, Colorado

226 attendees were at the 19th annual CIVSA conference, held June 4-8 in Denver, Colorado. Janey Wheeler received the Nick Kovalakides Outstanding Member Award, and Foot Awards went to Ashley Bair (University of Maryland), Megan Beresford (Oregon State University), Tamika Bynum (Earlham College), Karlene Kunigiel (Skidmore College), Tim Lipman (Illinois Institute of Technology), and Christine Speicher (University of Kentucky).

2011 – San Antonio, Texas

209 people attended the 18th annual CIVSA conference, held June 6-10 in San Antonio, Texas. Lea Hanson from Colorado State University received the Nick Kovalakides Outstanding Member Award, and Foot Awards went to Evelyn Betancourt-Martinez (University of Texas at San Antonio), Eric Johnson (University of Georgia), Marisol Mandujano (University of Texas at San Antonio), Andrew Parrish (University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill), Cindy Singley (Auburn University), and Drew Steding (University of Michigan).

2010 – Lexington, Kentucky

149 people attended the 17th annual CIVSA conference, held June 2-6 in Lexington, Kentucky. Donna Bostwick from Florida State University received the Nick Kovalakides Outstanding Member Award, and Foot Awards went to Niki Mendrinos (Temple University), Brittany Monroe (University of Colorado at Boulder), Becky Nemeth (George Mason University), Tiffany Smith (Texas Wesleyan University), Ben Toll (St. Mary’s College of Maryland), and Sarah Walz (George Mason University).
