CIVSA's Research & Assessment Committee encourages all members to engage in research about the visitor/information services profession. To help offset conference costs for those engaged in relevant research, the Executive Board passed an official resolution waiving conference registration fees for selected individuals. To qualify, one must submit a research proposal to the Research & Assessment Committee prior to November 1 of each year. If a project is selected by the Committee, the researcher(s) must also submit a conference session proposal as well as keeping the Research & Assessment Committee updated on research project's progress. Final results from the project must also be published in the summer issue of The Welcomer. If all criteria are satisfied, the Executive Board will waive the conference fees for up to two researchers per project, and up to two projects per year.
