Membership Drive
Rules for the 2011 CIVSA Membership Drive:
- The contest is open to all CIVSA members in good standing.
Good standing indicates that membership fees are paid for 2011-2012. Those not eligible to participate in the drawing are members of the Executive Board, Regional Directors, and employees of McKenna Management.
- For each new member recruited with membership fees paid no later than January 16, 2012, the recruiting member will receive one entry in a random drawing for free registration to the 2012 CIVSA Conference in Denver, Colorado (June 4-8, 2012).
New Member is defined as anyone who was not a paid CIVSA member between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011.
- To receive credit for each individual recruited, the new member must include the name and institution of the recruiting CIVSA member at time of application. All applications and membership fees must be received by January 16, 2012 to be eligible.
- Eligible entries will be verified by the CIVSA Association Manager and President-Elect (Membership Chair). The drawing will take place on Friday, January 20, 2012 and the winners will be notified by email immediately following.
- Four (4) free conference registrations will be awarded; one to a member from each of CIVSA's regions (members from Region V will be included in the drawing with Region IV).
- The prize has no cash value and is valid only for the 2012 conference. Free registration can be transferred from winner to another member from the same institution. Results of the drawing will be final and not open to challenge.
Recruiting Tips:
- Personalize the process and answer questions. Let your colleague know what you find most valuable about CIVSA membership.
Be sure to highlight member benefits you think the prospect will find most useful.
- If budget is an issue, be specific about the returns you have received on your investment in membership. In most cases, that far outweighs the
reasonable membership fee.
- Follow up is important!
