KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
Chancellor Deborah Ford – Opening Speaker
Dr. Debbie Ford, Chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, is a strong believer in community engagement and building partnerships. In addition to her responsibilities leading one of the most vibrant and diverse learning communities in the UW System, Dr. Ford serves as a board member for community and economic-development organizations throughout southeastern Wisconsin, including Kenosha Area Business Alliance, Racine County Workforce Development Board, the Milwaukee 7, and the Froedtert Health Board of Directors.  Nationally, Dr. Ford is a member of the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL) Board and recently completed a term on the NCAA Division II Presidents Council.  Dr. Ford holds her B.S. from the University of Louisville, her Master of Education from Indiana University, and her Doctor of Education from the University of Louisville.

 

Bill Capodagli – Keynote Speaker
In the past decade, Bill Capodagli has become the most sought after keynote speaker on the cultures of Disney and Pixar, specifically how Walt Disney’s original success credo – Dream, Believe, Dare, Do – may be implemented in organizations from manufacturing to banking to government. He is the best-selling co-author of The Disney Way (now in its 3rd edition), The Disney Way Fieldbook, and Innovate the Pixar Way. For over thirty years, Bill has benchmarked The Walt Disney Company and has assisted scores of organizations create a customer-centric culture, develop their leadership, and instill a long-term innovative spirit within their employees at all levels. Prior to co-founding Capodagli Jackson Consulting in 1993, Bill held managerial positions at the consulting firms of AT Kearney, and Ernst & Whinney (now Ernst and Young). Bill was a director on the Extended Services faculty of the University of Southern Indiana from 1991-1993 and presented The Disney Way principles to a vast client base. Bill holds degrees in economics and mathematics from Illinois State University.

 

Tim Hoelter – Closing Speaker
Tim Hoelter retired from Harley-Davidson after a distinguished 30 year career, serving as Harley’s first General Counsel and later as Vice President, Government Affairs. He was the only outsider among a group of executives who purchased Harley-Davidson in a leveraged buyout in 1981. The turnaround achieved by that courageous group is one of the most inspiring comeback stories in US business history. Tim’s motivational firsthand account of the obstacles they overcame to turn Harley-Davidson into an American Success Story is full of lessons that resonate with leadership teams facing seemingly impossible challenges. Tim received his Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a J.D. from Harvard. Currently, Tim is president of the Board of Harbor Commissioners for the City of Milwaukee, Treasurer of Harbor District Inc. and a guest lecturer at Georgetown Law.​
 

 
CAMPUS TOURS
The opening session and a campus tour of the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee is included in the registration price. Optional pre- and post-conference tours will be available for $15 each. Pre-conference tour choices on June 12 are Concordia University (100 person capacity) or Milwaukee Area Technical College (50 person capacity). Post-conference tour options on June 16 are Marquette University (75 person capacity) or Milwaukee School of Engineering (20 person capacity).

Our host hotel this year is the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee, located at 333 West Kilburn Avenue in Milwaukee. The rate is $169/night plus taxes, which includes complimentary in-room internet.

To receive the conference rate you can make your reservation online or by calling 888-421-1442 and asking for the CIVSA conference rate. The deadline to make reservations in our room block is May 22, 2018. We recommend you reserve as soon as possible, as the block will likely fill early.

Travel to Milwaukee
Milwaukee General Mitchell International Airport (MKE) is located 10 miles from our conference hotel. The average taxi rate between the airport and hotel is $30. Milwauke is also served by Uber and Lyft. CANCELLATION POLICY
Please note that registration fees are non-refundable.

A credit for all fees paid less a $50 administrative fee will be issued if requested in writing by March 1. The registration credit has no cash value, and is valid for the next CIVSA Annual conference only. Cancellation requests must be submitted to events@civsa.org and include the registrant’s name, email address, and amount paid. No credits will be issued after March 1.

A registration may be transferred to another representative from the same institution if requested in writing by May 1. If the member registration fee was paid the registration must be transferred to another CIVSA member. If transferred to a non-member a $150 transfer fee will apply. No name changes or substitutions will be made after May 1.

Credits will not be offered for campus tour registrations.
